Course info. It is a flexible programme allowing you to develop a broadbased knowledge of marine and water sports management issues and concepts within the context of the wider adventure sports industry. A key feature of this programme is the opportunity to live and work in a new environment both within the United Kingdom and abroad through our well established placement programme. It will also provide practical modules consisting of skills and coaching where you will update and widen your water skills focus.
Course Aims
The course will enable you to:
- Evaluate the theory and context of marine and watersports management.
- Understand the physiological and cultural responses to the marine and watersports environment.
- Plan, manage and deliver watersports and marine environmental management strategies.

- Coastal Conservation
- Managing Expeditions/Inland Field Studies
- Environmental Impact Assessment and Auditing
- Watersports Entrepreneurship
- Local and International work placements
Assessment
Subject knowledge and academic ability are assessed through a combination of methods. These include: continuous assessment throughcourse work and assignments, seminar presentation, project work and endofmodule/year examinations. Year 3 will include an independent research project.
Entry Requirements
- Two GCE 'A' levels (12 units), 120 Tariff Points, or equivalent
- VCE 'A' levels/ double award (12 units), 120 Tariff Points, or equivalent
- BTEC National Diploma at Merit Level, or
- Other qualifications considered to be equivalent by the Academic Board
