2) A1Surf.com, the leading British surf website, is teaming up with the British Bodyboard Club to support the Auto-Sleepers British Nationals it was announced today.
Rich Hall from the BBC said: “A1Surf.com is the first port of call for much of the British surf community, and we’re really pleased to have them on board as a sub-sponsor”.
He continued: “Partnering with A1Surf.com will hopefully continue to break down some of the historic barriers that have existed between surfers and bodyboarders. The bottom line is that some waves favour stand-up, some suit prone; the important thing is that everyone should be a waterman (or woman!) and enjoy their sport”.
The Auto-Sleepers British Bodyboard Championships are scheduled for the 5-6 September at Porthtowan, with divisions for under 14 right through to Masters (over 35), with cash prizes in all. Entry forms can be downloaded from www.britishbodyboardclub.co.uk

Must see surf documentary called ‘Bustin’ Down the Door’ which chronicles the lives of World Champions Wayne “Rabbit” Bartholomew, Shaun Tomson and Mark Richards. The film covers events from the 70’s and documents how these men risked everything to become the best surfers in the world and inevitably changed the world of surfing forever.
The film will be a limited release but we’ll be touring it across the UK from the 4th September. I was wondering if you’d want to cover the release on your website at all so that any keen surfers will have the chance to find out where the film is playing so they don’t miss it? I’ve included a synopsis, a link to our trailer and also a link to the list of dates and locations where the film is playing should you wish to flag up the film at all.
Synopsis
During the winter of 1975 in Hawaii, surfing was shaken to its core. A group of young surfers from Australia and South Africa sacrificed everything and put it all on the line to create a sport, a culture, and an industry that is today worth billions of dollars and has captured the imagination of the world. With a radical new approach and a brash colonial attitude, these surfers crashed headlong into a culture that was not ready for revolution. Surfing was never to be the same again …
Winning best documentary awards across the surfing community, the much anticipated documentary film, BUSTIN’ DOWN THE DOOR is scheduled for a UK theatrical release in the Autumn. The documentary film is narrated by the award winning actor Edward Norton. Featuring interviews with today’s surfing greats, Kelly Slater, Rob Machado and many others, their success can be directly attributed to the radical approaches and determination to transform the world of surfing these young men set out to do back in the 1970s.
