The UK Professional Surf Association is pleased to announce Animal will be sponsoring the Fistral Hightide Surf Expression Session on Friday 31st August between 6 – 8pm. The event has been organised to coincide with hightide at North Fistral Beach, providing a great opportunity for spectators to see contemporary surfing by some of the best surfers in the UK up close.
 

The event will encourage surfers to push the boundaries of their abilities and be rewarded financially for the best manoeuvres preformed. Prizes will be given for the Biggest Arial, the Most Powerful Manoeuvre and the overall most Radical turn. In addition, for the first event Animal will give a prize for the best Manoeuvre preformed by a Female surfer.

 
Dave Reed from UK Pro Surf Association said, “This is the first in a series of four events we will be putting on at Fistral to help improve the technical development of the UK’s most up and coming surfers. The format of the contest will encourage an exciting spectacle for anyone who wishes to come down and watch”.
 

Other activities taking place include the Animal Bike Tour and a screening of Alan Stokes ‘Strange and Beautiful Life’ Surf Video in Fistral Beach Bar and Cafe.

 

Expression session Series events dates and times include:

• 16th September               5pm – 7pm
• 28th September 5pm – 7pm
• 12th – 14th October 4pm – 6pm

The Mumbles Cracker sevens marks the end of the British summer season when is the Indian Summer due?

Well there you go another summer season is drawing to an end with the full stop being the famous Mumbles Jimmy Cracker sevens organised by Mumbles RFC A great day was had by all who came down to Underhill Park the beer and burger bars remained busy all day as was the childrens entertainment area.

Our boys put on a fantastic display of running rugby and some solid defensive tackles from Aled Mason, Dai and Andy Littlehales. Well done boys looking forward to next year already.

The sun graced the day with only a light shower towards the end made for one of the better Cracker 7's days, well done to the organisers.

It has been a pretty awful summer weather wise, the picture below was taken back in June at Rhossili Bay. In the last 4 months we have only used Rhossilli about 5 times which shows how bad the weather has been. Thankfully we have Caswell bay as a back up beach for those bad weather, stormy days.

SurfGower rain or shine surfing is the perfect wet weather activity

This picture was taken by Chris last week when the weather was at best described as pants! Nevermind, Chris and the young surfers ended up surfing for two days and making the most of the waves on offer. Despite the wind and rain once they were in the water it was all about catching the waves.

At lunchtime they sheltered in the beach cafe (wetsuits are allowed inside cafe) and the hot chocky was popular. 

The picture also highlights the classic surfing pose, arms out stretched for balance and knees bent for stability. The surfers focus is on reaching the beach, always look were you want to go and your body will follow!

The picture looks like it was taken in December, grey and cold not July/August summer..it's been one of those years with very little in the way of blue skies!!
