To all surf school owners and active BSA coaches
A message to you all from the BSA
With the clock going back, nights drawing in and the sea temperature plummeting this for many operators marks the end of the season, time to follow the sun south. Only a few hard core remain to see out a winter coaching program. Each year the BSA hold’s a schools seminar an opportunity for us to get together talk about the season just gone and to start thinking about the season that is ahead. This year we’ve scheduled the seminar for the Sunday 25th November. It will take place @ the BSA Head office on Fistral beach I’m anticipating it to start around 9.30 but I will confirm the week before.
The schedule for the day is Barrie Hall will give a presentation for about an hour and talk about the future of coaching and the BSA developments in coaching qualifications. This year will be an especially interesting one because we’ve received funding from sports England to develop surf clubs so those of you interested in developing clubs you would be advised to attend.
I will then give you a presentation on the AS scheme how its run this season, this will give me an opportunity to sound out any alterations I would like to make to the scheme and an opportunity for you to voice opinions on the current operation and any amendments.
We will break for lunch (which will be provided) and then in the afternoon a surf school owner and sports lecturer has expressed an interest in presenting some of the issues raised in the resent publication Surf Nation. The idea of the afternoon is a presentation with open debate on the issues. The whole day is focused upon surf school business and how to improve the industry, I would hope that you can all attend but understand if you have prior commitments.
I will confirm the details a week in advance but please try and leave the diary blank so you can attend. As we are providing lunch I would appreciate you telling me whether you can in attendance.
