Got tickets for Glastonbury and Jack Johnson live in Newquay, Cornwall

The tickets came through this morning for Jack Johnson and G Love and Special Sauce appearance in Newquay, Cornwall. I am running learn to surf classes in the morning at Fistral on that day. Also got our Glastonbury tickets through which we are stoked about and can not wait to hear the line up. In the past here in Swansea it has been difficult keeping up to date with the coolest tunes but at last there is a way by listening to XFM South Wales it is sick, tune in and chill out....

It is a Good Friday here in Wales the Swansea surf is good and XFM South Wales have been playing some fine tunes all day, stoked

Caswell beach on a stormy Good Friday providing stoke for many surfers today, crab Island was super fun at low tide until the wind picked up offering some nice hollow ones. In between surfs I listened to my new favourite radio station XFM South Wales it rocks tune in and feel the stoke. Happy Easter to you all.

Chilled surfer girls music or the IV by Braille? Whatever keeps that stoke!

It has been a long hot day here on the rock and after several super bocks it is nice to listen and chill to new music from a new artist named Tristan Prettyman. She's a singer songwriter from San Diego and also surfs. She will be on the cover of FOAM Magazine in May. Tristan just kicked off her tour w/ G. Love & Special Sauce last week. Her new album, Hello, comes out April 15th click hear for some fine tunes: Singer, Surfer and song writer

Tempo valley and Mama's cookin rock the North Shore

After a long days surfing and good wholesome organic thai food what better way to wind the Saturday up than to watch two bands (tempo valley and mamas cookin) you have never heard before and come out of the place stoked wanting to hear more of them.  They both played excellent music, tempo valley played music that I am really into and Amos liked both bands. It only cost £10's to see them and we would go and see both of the bands again if they play Glastonbury or in the UK this year (which they both deserve to) good luck in the future guys.

Manu Chao, Rock City Nottingham and the East coast going off

Well, the plan was to see Manu @ rock city and then head to the east coast for some surf which whilst on the subject has been seriously lacking on the west coast. Mainly due to all the swell being produced too far north of our swell window and banging straight into Ireland's west coast and Scotland which Richie Mullins tells me has been pumping and he was raving about his trip up there with the stand up pits for all.

Anyway the concert was awesome and helped me re-live my days at the northshore back packers with crazy chris, duncan scott, frank messina (piko man), stuart nettle, ronster the monster and Rich 'thinkaboutit'   and all the other mad bongos in the land of bongs.  The beer and vodka was flowing nicely and all going well until early hours of the morning when I crashed out and slept most of Thursday finally waking with a sore head and not in any fit state to face the carnage on the east coast. Never mind Manu  Chao was worth it and cold water can be put off for a bit longer.

Must say Nottingham was a really cool place full of young students up for a laugh and good night out, would think it would be a top place for a stag night.   The words Manu shouted at the crowd stuck in my head..'you can only fight violence with good housing and education...' I hope that Bush and Brown one day accept this path as the only way...

Arcade fire 'd up

I had forgotten why I had left the warm blue waves of the Algarve surf holiday and headed home, all be it briefly, and standing at the CIA in Cardiff last night gave me one massive reason, 'ARCADE FIRE'    what an awesome band. This was the best gig I have seen since the hot summers day at Morfa Stadium when the Stereophonics rocked Swansea and the whole of South Wales. The sound was spot on and the band looked like they really enjoyed their jobs which of course gained a great response from the packed house.   

Next week I am off to see the main man 'Manu Chao' at Nottinghams rock city. Those of you that ever visited Mark Foo's back packers  years ago on the NorthShore, when I was managing plantation village, will recall my early morning wake up call for you all.... ' Bongo bong'  I have been listening to the 'La radiolina' and it is growing on me, manu Chao is a musical globalista and an inspiration to the world's downtrodden. Manu draws crowds up 100000 in Latin America and has a cult following here in the Uk including me !!  For more info on this legend click here 'manu chao la radiolina'

2^ND HEADLINER UNLEASHED!

Britrock band STARSAILOR are confirmed as the headline act for Saturday 5^th August, the second night of this year’s Rip Curl Boardmasters Unleashed, the South West’s Premiere music event.

Following the announcement of Feeder for Friday night at Unleashed, Starsailor join an incredible musical line-up for this year’s Festival. The two-night music gig at the cliff-top location in Watergate Bay, nr Newquay starts Friday 4^th August and is part of the week-long Rip Curl Boardmasters Festival, Europe’s biggest surf, skate and music event.
