How do I start? Last night (GMT time) I stayed up until nearly 03.00 a.m with baby Millie on my lap watching and listening to the ultimate surfing lesson.

To say that the commentary was informative would be a massive understatement. Mr Gerry Lopez the king of pipeline and Shawn Briley   talking about surfing equipment, swell directions, land markers etc

Plus then watching so many different chargers using a plethora of styles to ride the ultimate wave. I am not even sure you could put a price on the surfing information one could gain from chilling out in the safety of your front room.

The surfing and conditions made for one of the best surf contests ever seen on a live webcast thanks to Volcom for bringing the king of waves to my cottage in Mumbles.

Long live the king!

Summers here at least there is surf at Caswell Bay for the surfschool !

 Well more rain today, hopefully clearing up this arvo. Fun waves for the surfschool at Caswell Bay again today due to the protection offered at this particular beach.

Above picture is of my daughter aged 9 wiping out all part of the joy of surfing, rain or shine your going to get wet anyway!

For the rest of the week it looks like a westerly flow with sun, rain, cloud and more rain so yes typical of what British summers are known for!  Next Friday onwards looks like the jet stream is changing and we may get a period of nice weather..so keep the faith !

The Gower surf for the week ahead

Well after an awful weekend with flat waves and changeable weather, no good for anyone except for those opting to sit and watch the rugby matches all day that is.

The weather looks changeable all week, but, we may get some surf towards the end of the week and possibly very nice waves for the weekend with offshore winds at several spots.. throw in a bit of sun and we will be back on track.

Well looks like a good week for our junior surfers down at Caswell with waves all week, although Friday, Saturday and Sunday are looking really good for the longboard clinic we are running at Rhossili Beach with the London surf club.

Gower Surf update for this Weekend and Welsh surfing contest results

As you can see from above pic from GLive the wind is wild and from the South West, all surfing lessons this weekend will be once again at Caswell Bay we still have spaces available so simply contact us > Last minute surf lessons 

Was hoping to head out Crab Island for a quick dip but perhaps will go for a surf indoors @ the LC Swansea.

Surf fun for logs, swell boards, Stand Up Kayaks and surf lessons today

Nice small waves for lessons and the crew in the picture above to get wet in. 

Lessons for this Bank holiday Sunday are being held at Rhossili beach meeting in the car park in the Wormshead car park.

Caswell Bay will be nice around lunchtime as the tide pushes in, welcome to the new lifeguard service this season which has been taken over by the RNLI and the head supervisor includes one of our ex surf coaches. Well done Chris!

Nice waves on Gower today, both Langland and Caswell Bay are surfable

Waves all around gower today with the swell looking better on the south facing coast today the tide is pushing in and several spots will be good this afternoon, have fun.

Winter Waves everywhere as storms produce the goods for surfers

Will be superb fun for the junior surf club at Caswell Beach, whilst above lines can be seen rolling into Langland beach, Swansea.  Looks like surf for the whole week ahead at Langland and Caswell, have fun.

Gower Surfing outlook for week ending 26th October

There was fun waves on Monday in Langland and yesterday was good at Caswell just b4 high tide and then Langland in the late arvo. The picture above courtesy of Gower Live shows smaller waves today.

The charts are looking good for 2 more big blows with possibly really good waves for Friday if the wind goes North Westerly and Sunday late arvo could be classic with forecast Northerly winds.

Surf coming back to Gower this week, the sun has been very welcome though!

How nice has the weather been, but pretty poor for waves here on Gower, if you have been stuck here, do not forget you can use the board rider or go for a long paddle to keep you surf fit. Looking at magicseaweed and windguru today is at last showing two swells one for mid week and the other which is bigger for Saturday.

Which means no need to travel for a week or so!
